Alabama Officially Adds Former DB to Coaching Staff
The Crimson Tide officially added Jason Jones to the coaching staff on Tuesday, according to Nick Kelly of AL.com.

It was reported on January 7 that Jones was being targeted to join the Crimson TIde's staff, with Matt Zenitz reporting that Alabama was set to hire the former Crimson Tide defensive back in an assistant defensive backs coaching role.
Alabama released co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Colin Hitschler from his duties earlier in January, leaving a vacancy among the 11 on-field coaches for Alabama. In a corresponding move, Alabama promoted senior defensive analyst Chuck Morrell to coaching linebackers and special teams analyst Jay Nunez to special teams coordinator.
Jones is expected to work with Alabama's cornerbacks, a position he played when he was a student at Alabama in the late 1990s.
Jones graduated from Alabama in 2001 after playing for the Crimson Tide in the late 1990s. He recently spent two seasons as the cornerbacks coach at North Carolina.
Before his most recent coaching experience in Chapel Hill, Jones coached with Kane Wommack at Indiana from 2020-2022, FAU in 2019, and Ole Miss from 2013-2018, where he coached with Kane Wommack's father, Dave Wommack.
Jones started for Alabama for two seasons and was a member of the SEC West champion 1996 Alabama Crimson Tide, and won an SEC title in 1999. He earned a Master's from Alabama in 2005 while working as a graduate assistant with the Crimson Tide.
