Alabama Picks up Commitment from No. 1 JUCO EDGE
Alabama Football is 5-1, with control of their own destiny still in terms of the College Football Playoffs. The wins on the field are beginning to translate once again to wins on the recruiting trail.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, Alabama has flipped the No. 1 edge defender in JUCO from Mississippi State, Kevonte Henry.
Henry will have two years of eligibility remaining once he arrives at the Capstone.
According to On3 Sports, Henry is rated as a four-star prospect from Cerritos College in Norwalk, California.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound edge defender is originally from Leuzinger High School in Los Angeles, California. He originally committed to Oklahoma in 2022 before shifting to junior college. According to On3, he is rated as the No. 1 player in the state of California, and the No. 3 overall player in JUCO.
Freddie Roach was the primary recruiter for the edge defender. Alabama still holds the No. 2 class in the 2025 recruiting cycle thanks to Henry's commitment.
