Alabama Pitcher Named Preseason All-American
Alabama baseball pitcher Grayson Hitt has been named to Baseball America's Preseason All-American Third-Team.
The junior recorded a 5.34 earned run average and a 4-3 record in 14 appearances last season after becoming a consistent part of the Alabama pitching rotation. He allowed 66 hits, 41 runs, 36 earned runs, 30 walks, ten home runs, and 68 strikeouts.
According to RollTide.com, "Baseball America annually polls major league teams to vote for its Preseason All-America squad, asking that they make their selections based on performance, talent and pro potential. Ten of the first 11 college players drafted in 2022 were voted as BA Preseason All-Americans. In all, 27 of the 36 Preseason All-Americans who were draft eligible went on to be selected in the top 101 picks of the 2022 Draft."
