Alabama Pitcher Named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week
Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Alabama baseball passed a big test last weekend, completing a series sweep of the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station, Texas. The Crimson Tide's sweep allowed Alabama to start SEC play 3-0.

A major contributor to the victory was Alabama pitcher Bobby Alcock, who pitched seven scoreless innings in Alabama's sweep-clinching victory on Sunday.
Alcock's victory on Sunday earned him recognition from the SEC, being SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week by the SEC.
Alcock, a right-handed senior pitcher from Massachusettes, helped shut out the Aggies in a series sweep of the 19th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies. He had a career-high in strikeouts with eight and allowed just four hits, two walks, and no runs in seven scoreless frames.
The seven-inning show by Alcock is the longest outing by an Alabama starting pitcher so far this season.
The SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week honor is the first weekly honor of Alcock's career, and the second for the Crimson Tide this season. Will Hodo earned the first with a walk-off home run to defeat Ohio State in the Jacksonville Classic.
Alabama baseball will play next on Tuesday, March 18 against South Alabama. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
