Alabama Reserve Linebacker Enters Portal
Alabama's linebacking depth took a hit for the 2025 season, with Matt Zenitz reporting that linebacker Jeremiah Alexander will enter the transfer portal.
Alexander was Alabama's top reserve linebacker in the 2024 season and saw significant playing time in Alabama's 2024 Reliaquest Bowl loss to the Michigan Wolverines. He entered the game following an injury to Jihaad Campbell in the third quarter.
Campbell declared for the 2025 NFL draft earlier this week, and Alabama could return linebacker Justin Jefferson could return for another year of eligibility after an NCAA ruling granted him a fifth year.
Alabama also added Nikhai Hill-Green via the transfer portal last month and is awaiting a decision by redshirt junior Deontae Lawson on his decision to enter the 2025 NFL draft.
Alabama added four freshmen inside linebackers in the 2024 recruiting class - Justin Okoronkwo, Cayden Jones, Sterling Dixon, and QB Reese, with three inside linebackers added via the 2025 recruiting class - Darrell Johnson, Luke Metz, and Abduall Sanders Jr.
Jeremiah Alexander was a four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class from Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama. He was rated the No. 50 overall prospect according to 247 Sports. Alexander appeared in 10 games during the 2024 season for Alabama, playing primarily on special teams and mop-up duty for Alabama.
He appeared in 14 games in 2023.
