Haynes was a five-star running back from Buford, Georgia, where he committed to the Crimson Tide over the Georgia Bulldogs.

He carried the ball 79 times for an average of 5.7 yards per carry, totaling 448 yards rushing this season with seven rushing touchdowns. Haynes also caught 17 passes for 99 yards this season.

A talented running back standing at 5-foot-11, 210 pounds, Haynes has been banged up and dealing with injuries for the two seasons he was at Alabama, with Kalen DeBoer alluding to it during one of his weekly press conferences.

"A lot of guys are working through things this season. He's certainly one of them," DeBoer said of Haynes's low usage in Alabama's 24-3 loss to Oklahoma.

Alabama's running back room is still strong, with Jam Miller and Richard Young expected to be the top two options for Alabama's bowl game against Michigan and a plethora of talented and young backs behind them in Daniel Hill and Kevin Riley set to return barring any transfer portal news alongside Akylin Dear signing with Alabama on December 4.

Haynes is the first running back from Alabama to enter the transfer portal this offseason.
