Alabama Schedules Visit with Brother of Auburn Commit
With Alabama's NCAA tournament exit in the Elite Eight at the hands of Duke, the Crimson Tide will now focus on the offseason and recruiting highly-coveted players out of the transfer portal.

The Tide has several visits scheduled, including one seven-foot player already on the campus at Alabama for a visit. Alabama is looking for more guard help too, setting up an online meeting with one of the top guards in the transfer portal, Abdi Bashir Jr.
According to On3 Sports' Joe Tipton, Bashir Jr. is scheduling visits with Arkansas, Kentucky, and Kansas in addition to the Tide.
Bashir, a 6-foot-7 sophomore from Monmouth College, averaged 20.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in his sophomore season. Bashir shot 37.7 percent from the floor and 38.3 percent from three-point range in 33 game appearances during the 2024-2025 college basketball season.
The addition of Bashir could make the Iron Bowl of basketball, Alabama's twice-annual matchup with the Auburn Tigers, even more intense than it was last season. Aden Holloway transferred from Auburn to Alabama for the 2024-2025 season, increasing the intensity of the rivalry. Now, if the Tide adds Bashir, the rivalry will turn into a sibling rivalry.
Abdi Bashir Jr's twin brother, Abdul Bashir, is currently committed to play at Auburn for the 2025-2026 college basketball season.
