To get to the finals, the number two-seeded Aggies had to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks and Vanderbilt Commodores in back-to-back days. Texas A&M will be looking to avenge last year's disappointment. The eight-seeded Aggies at the time went on a Cinderella run to finals before losing to the Tennessee Volunteers, 65-50.

As for the number one-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide, the team had to beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Missouri Tigers to get to the finals. Unlike the Aggies, Alabama had a disappointing trip the last time they came to Nashville, as the team was upset by the 11-seeded Vanderbilt Commodores. The Crimson Tide has responded by having the best season in program history, winning the SEC regular season title, and looks to win its second SEC Championship in three years.

The SEC Tournament Championship will also be the next chapter in a divisional rivalry. The two SEC West opponents will be meeting for the 24th time in history. Alabama holds the slight lead of 12-11 wins but Texas A&M has won the last five games. Earlier this month after clinching the SEC regular season title, the number two ranked Crimson Tide lost to the Aggies, on the road, by a score of 67-61.

The player to watch out for in the SEC Championship for the Alabama Crimson Tide is Wooden Award Finalist Brandon Miller. Throughout the SEC Tournament, Miller has been the X-Factor for Alabama as he put up 20 points against Missouri and 18 points against Mississippi State. On the other hand, Wade Taylor IV is the X-Factor for the Aggies. Against Arkansas, Taylor put up 18 points, and against Vanderbilt with a trip to the finals on the line, he put up 25 points.

The game will be played on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at noon CST. Coverage will be on Tide 100.9.
