Brandon Miller Named to the Wooden Award Watch List
The John R. Wooden Award is one of the top honors a player can receive in all of college basketball. The top 20 student-athletes with a shot at winning the award, were chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts, based on their performances so far this season.
Alabama star player, Brandon Miller is one of two freshman in the entire country who was named to the top 20 watch list. He is also one of just two players from the SEC to be named to the list, with Kentucky's Oscar Tshiebwe being the other.
Miller has had a dominating first season with the Crimson Tide and has proved to play a key role in Alabama's success this season. According to Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report, the star freshman is projected to go eighth overall in the upcoming NBA Draft to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In 21 games, Miller averages 19.0 points per game, which is the most by any other freshman in the country by far, and No. 39 overall.
Coming off of their blowout loss to Oklahoma last weekend, Miller and the Tide will look to bounce back into the win column, as they return home to Coleman Coliseum to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores, at 7:30 p.m. CT.
