Alabama Signs JUCO Speedster Receiver

The Alabama Crimson Tide is having a busy Wednesday as the college football world is celebrating National Early Signing Day for the class of 2023. The Tide is currently securing the No. 1 class in the country and one of the highlights is JUCO wide receiver Malik Benson.

Benson signed his letter of intent early on Wednesday and appears to be set to make an early contribution to the Alabama program as he was the most explosive receiver in the junior college ranks.

Benson hauled in 102 receptions for 2,206 yards and 21 touchdowns in two seasons for the Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons.

The 6-foot-1 receiver set the NJCAA single season record for yards per-reception with 28.6 in 2021.

He was primarily recruited by Freddie Roach and Holmon Wiggins and joins a recruiting class with receivers Cole Adams, Jalen Hale and Jaren Hamilton.  

Alabama's quarterback position is up in the air in 2023, but regardless as to who's under center Benson will be a top target for the Crimson Tide.

Benson he chose the Tide over Oregon, Tennessee, Georgia and LSU and plans to enroll at The Capstone in January.
