Coach Patrick Murphy's squad has shown absolute dominance and resilience through this season so far, as the Crimson Tide is ranked No. 1 in the country according to Softball America. Alabama claims the top spot in the nation following a series win over former No. 1 Texas this past weekend. The Crimson Tide lost the first matchup of the weekend 9-1, pinning their backs against the wall, but stormed back, winning the next two straight to win the series with final scores of 11-4 and 7-4.

Alabama rose three spots, going from No. 4 to No.1 in the country, swapping spots with Texas, which is down to No. 4. The biggest drop of the week was the University of Virginia, which dropped all the way down to No. 21 after being ranked in the top 12 last week. Teams that are new to the top 25 are Kansas, Louisville, and Southeastern Louisiana.
