The Crimson Tide is in a strange spot with specialists, having to replace Graham Nicholson at kicker, Kneeland Hibbett at long snapper, and James Burnip at punter. Alabama is amid competitions at all three specialist spots as we are two weeks away from the Crimson Tide's opening game of the season against Florida State.

What did head coach Kalen DeBoer see from the specialists after the Crimson Tide's second scrimmage of camp?

"Blake’s [Doud] done a really nice job. Last scrimmage – I shouldn’t say scrimmage. Last Saturday here was really the best day I’ve seen him have," DeBoer said. "I think he continued to have a really good week, and then today came out and, in our drill work, we didn’t get as many punts in the scrimmage, working into the scrimmage (as) I was hoping too.

"I think we were probably two or three less than what I was hoping for with a partial script of what we wanted to get done. But he’s had a really good eight days. I think Alex [Asparuhov] continues to get better and push, just with his injury that he’s had. He’s so far ahead of schedule with his recovery and so now he’s really getting into that rhythm and showing a lot of improvement there. "
