Alabama Standout DL Returning in 2025
Alabama fans got one more gift at the end of the holiday season, as Alabama defensive lineman Tim Keenan III announced he would be returning to Alabama for the 2025 football season.
Keenan is one of the biggest retentions along the Alabama defense this offseason and joins fellow defensive lineman LT Overton in returning to Alabama for their senior campaigns.
He was a three-star defensive lineman in Alabama's 2021 recruiting class. He played high school football at Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama, and committed to the Crimson Tide in August 2020.
Keenan wrapped up a 2024 campaign that saw him expand on his starting role from 2023, totaling 13 starts for Alabama across all 12 regular season games and the bowl game against Michigan. This season, Keenan totaled 40 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two quarterback hits, and one pass breakup.
Alabama also has depth along the defensive line behind Keenan's return, with sophomore James Smith having a strong showing in the loss to Michigan in the bowl game, redshirt freshman Edric Hill seeing increased playing time this season, and two freshmen who developed this season behind the starters in Jeremiah Beaman and Isaiah Faga. Alabama also added three-star London Simmons and four-star Juco transfer Steve Mbououa in the 2025 recruiting class.
