Alabama Starting Tackle Enters Transfer Portal
The Alabama Crimson Tide will be searching for a new starting right tackle in 2025. Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports reports that starting tackle Elijah Pritchett is entering the transfer portal.
Pritchett started 12 of 13 possible games for Alabama at tackle this season and came in off the bench in Alabama's victory over South Florida to help lead the team to victory. According to PFF, Pritchett allowed the most pressure from any of Alabama's starting five offensive linemen with 31 allowed this season.
Pritchett, a 6-foot-6, 327-pound redshirt sophomore from Columbus, Georgia, attended Carver High School, where he was a five-star prospect and ranked as the No. 31 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class.
Pritchett took official visits to Florida State, USC, Arkansas, and Georgia in high school.
He totaled 40 knockdown blocks across the 12 games in the regular season, starting the first game of the season at left tackle in place of the injured Kadyn Proctor. When he returned to the starting lineup against Wisconsin, he stuck as the Crimson Tide's right tackle.
Pritchett won the starting right tackle job over Tuscaloosa native Wilkin Formby in Fall camp before Formby earned a chance to start against South Florida.
Last offseason, Pritchett entered the transfer portal briefly before removing his name from it and re-joining Alabama for the 2024 football season.
