PREVIEW: Tide Hoops Takes On Texas A&M In Coleman Coliseum
A very disappointing loss to the Florida Gators Sunday afternoon resulted in the Tide being unranked in the top 25 for the first time in 42 weeks, snapping the fifth-longest active streak in college basketball. Alabama looks to get back into a groove with a matchup against a Texas A&M team that's won four of its last five games and ranks amongst the top of the SEC.
Alabama's leading scorer is guard Labaron Philon Jr., who is averaging 21.6 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game, while playing almost 30 minutes per game. Leading the team in rebounds is freshman forward Amari Allen, who averages 7.5 per game. The Tide averages around 91.2 points per game and sits at an overall record of 14-7 (4-4 in conference play).
For the Aggies who sit at 17-4 (7-1 in conference play), senior forward Rashaun Agee leads the team, averaging 13.9 points per game and nine rebounds per game. Behind Agee is guard Rubén Dominguez, who averages 12.9 points per game and shoots 44.9% on field goals. The Aggies' head coach is Bucky McMillan, who is in his first season with Texas A&M after spending the previous five seasons with Samford men's basketball. The Aggies present a unique challenge for Alabama, allowing only 76.7 points per game and averaging nine steals on defense, while Alabama has been turnover-prone most of the season, averaging 10 turnovers a game and a total of 209 on the season. Alabama's adjusted offensive efficiency per KenPom is 127.8, while Texas A&M's is 121.5. Alabama also has the No.1 Strength of schedule.
Watch the Tide take on the Aggies at 6:00 pm on the SEC Network, or listen on the Tide 100.9 app.

Alabama has struggled in recent games to look like it can make a deep push in both the SEC and NCAA tournaments. Center Charles Bediako also continues to play while awaiting his hearing with Judge Daniel Pruet out of the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse.
