Auburn Freshmen Trash Alabama During Iron Bowl Week
Despite the lack of success for both Alabama and Auburn this season, the Iron Bowl is still one of the premier sports events in Alabama, Auburn's freshman linebacker DeMarcus Riddick had some comments trashing Alabama during Monday's media availability with reporters.
Riddick committed to the Tigers over the Crimson Tide during his senior season at Chilton County High School in the state of Alabama.
On Alabama freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams,
"Ryan Williams ain't no big-time player to me."
Williams leads Alabama in receiving with 804 yards and eight touchdowns. Auburn's leading receiver has 865 yards and eight touchdowns on the season.
Riddick made some strong comments about the Iron Bowl, "I will not lose to Bama while I'm here."
Riddick also said, "Every rival team I played, I never lost to.”
Auburn lost 31-13 to rival Georgia.
Riddick continued to put his foot in his mouth by giving Alabama more bulletin board material, commenting on Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe:
"He is a good quarterback. He’s fast, but I mean, he’s not faster than me. He will not get out of that box this week."
Auburn freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman got in on the conversation as well.
"Really a revenge tour. We’re going in their place and we’re really just going to go into their crib and just take over and have fun while we’re doing it. This is going to be some of the last memories we make with each other so let’s go make it a memorable game.”
iron Bowl week is something else.
Alabama will kick off against Auburn on Saturday, November 30, at 2:30 p.m. CT. Kick-off is set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
