The SEC postponed the Auburn Tigers' game with Mississippi State due to COVID-19 issues. Mississippi State fell under the scholarship athlete threshold and therefore the game was moved. One day after the conference moved this weekend's game, Auburn has shut down its football activities due to nine players and three staff members testing positive for COVID-19.

The team will utilize contact tracing to determine who may need to go into quarantine until the spread of the virus is contained.

The Tigers are 4-2 so far but are on a 2-game winning streak having defeated LSU 48-11. Auburn was scheduled to go to Starkville to build on its winning streak however instead both schools will utilize a bye week to contain a COVID-19 outbreak.

Auburn will host the University of Tennessee in its next contest on Nov. 21 before finishing up its schedule with Alabama, Texas A&M and now rescheduled Mississippi State.

The SEC has been rocked this week with several COVID-19 outbreaks, LSU its dealing with its own preparation issues, Arkansas Head Coach Sam Pittman received two positive COVID-19 tests and will miss this week's game, and Texas A&M has shut down team facilities after multiple positive COVID-19 tests have been returned in the program.
