It's a moment any freshman would dream about. Scoring the final basket for your team as it wins a championship. That happened last week in California for a young man, but his story goes beyond the scoreboard.

As Trinity Christian wrapped up its sectional championship over Desert Chapel, the team substituted freshman Beau Howell into the game. Howell, who suffers from autism, had the opportunity to play the final minute of the game.

After he missed his first attempt, Desert Chapel rebounded the ball and looked intent on running out the clock until their head coach called a timeout. On the next possession, the team showed a great display of sportsmanship by turning the ball over to Howell to let him shoot until he made a shot.

After a few attempts, Howell drained a basket to the roar of the crowd and celebrated by bear-hugging all of his teammates. As you'll see in the video, it's one of the purest moments of joy you'll see in sports.
