Pires is a very talented two-way prospect, with a cannon for an arm and the ability to hit and pitch at a superior level. He’s known to have a long and lean athletic build to him, with square shoulders and tons of physical projection remaining.

According to his scouting reports, Pires has a current fastball speed of 88 miles per hour with lots more velocity to gain as he matures physically. He runs a 6.88 in the sixty and plays middle infielder when he’s not pitching.

Pires will be a great addition to the Crimson Tide. While only a sophomore in high school, Pires brings a level of athleticism that we haven’t seen much of with Bohannon’s previous recruits.

Pires has tons of potential, and his body will physically get stronger as his career progresses. It won't surprise many if he were able to hit pitching speeds in the lower 90s by the year's end.

Tide fans will have to wait a few more years before they get a chance to see Pires play at The Joe, but it will be fun to see how he improves his game before he gets to Tuscaloosa.
