The Alabama basketball facility being built next door to Coleman Coliseum received a cost update proposal on Thursday, but not for the reason one might think.

With the growing prices in the economy, the general thought process was that the new practice facility for Alabama men's basketball would get more expensive. In reality, the new practice facility got cheaper by roughly $4.5 million in the updated budget presented during a board of trustees physical properties meeting on Thursday.

The $4.5 million decrease is thanks to a "very favorable" construction bid, dropping the cost of the project from $59.1 million to $54.6 million.

The vote to officially approve the decreased budget will take place on Friday, April 4.
