Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide are trying to stay hot on the recruiting trail. Following two commitments in September, Alabama basketball has a massive recruiting weekend this weekend while the Crimson Tide football team takes on the Georgia Bulldogs.

Oats and the Crimson Tide are not content with just getting recruits to visit Alabama, however. According to On3 Sports Joe Tipton, Alabama head coach Nate Oats and assistant coach Preston Murphy are in Huntsville, Alabama today to visit the No. 1 shooting guard in the country for 2026, Caleb Holt.

Holt stands at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds. He is ranked in the top five as a national recruit in the class of 2026.

Holt was offered by Alabama in April 2022.

Holt led his high school to a 6A State Championship in 2023, averaging 20.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.4 assists per game. He recorded 16 points and 13 rebounds in the win over Mountain Brook in the state championship finals.

Holt was also a member of the U17 Basketball World Cup in 2024, averaging 11.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.9 steals per game on the international stage.

Holt is currently projected to Auburn according to On3, with Ole Miss and Alabama rounding out the top three.

holt has visited Tuscaloosa twice already, with a visit on September 9, 2023, when Alabama played Texas in football, and January 27, 2024, when Alabama basketball played LSU.
