Bama in the Big Leagues: Half-Way Point of 2017 Regular Season
The Major League Baseball season approaches the half-way point as the month of June comes to a close.
Over the last few days, former Alabama pitchers Jimmy Nelson and Tommy Hunter contributed to big road wins for the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays respectively.
Nelson tossed one of his best games of the season Thursday night at Cincinnati. Milwaukee’s starting hurler fanned 11 batters, walked one and allowed two earned runs in seven innings of work.
Hunter earned his first save of the season in Tampa Bay’s 4-2 win over Pittsburgh Tuesday evening. Coming out of the bullpen in the 10th inning, the Indianapolis, Indiana native pitched a scoreless and hitless inning while striking one of his three batters faced.
