Bama in the Big Leagues: Jimmy Nelson to Miss Remainder of Regular Season
As the Major League Baseball season comes down the home stretch, one former Alabama star will miss out on the final three weeks of the regular season.
During Friday’s start against the Chicago Cubs, Jimmy Nelson jammed his shoulder while diving back into first base after singling off the left field wall. Prior to the injury, Nelson struck out seven and walked two batters in five shutout innings.
His win set the stage for Milwaukee’s three-game sweep of the Chicago Cubs and puts the Brewers within two games of first place in the National League Central.
Pittsburgh’s Wade LeBlanc also victimized the Cubs with his fifth win of the season. The former Alabama hurler threw three scoreless and hitless innings in the Pirates win on Tuesday.
Find out how some of Alabama’s former stars fared this past week.
