Bama in the NFL: Week 11 Recap
Week 11 has now passed us by, and boy were they some great games. Let's break down and see who performed the best.
Chiefs - 21 vs. Bills 30:
Amari Cooper (Bills) - With his first game back, Cooper made two big plays that shaped the way the game would be played for the Bills. Not getting a ton of looks, he did have two big catches for 55 yards. Both catches came up big moving the chains for the Bills to put up points. After the game Cooper said, "This is the most fun I've had in a game in a while." I think it is safe to say that Cooper likes his new home and should see plenty more opportunities.
Ravens - 16 vs. Steelers - 18:
Derrick Henry (Ravens) - His third lowest carry total of the year, gaining 65 yards and touchdown on them, you would think the Ravens would be more inclined to run rely on Henry in this close divisional rivalry game. They leaned away from the run (Which is expected on the last few drives when you're down), but they shy'd away from the run even before the last few drives. Still a great outing from Henry, and if Monken (Ravens OC) can sick with Henry through the end of games going forward, he will become the closer they're looking for.
Najee Harris (Steelers) - 18 carries for 63 yards, he was a big player in this game, dictating clock time and possession time for the Steelers offense. A steady line but he was very effective on the ground pushing the chains when needed.
Commanders - 18 vs. Eagles - 26:
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - Connecting on 18 passes of 28, for 221 and a rushing touchdown, it was a great efficient game for Hurts. A big divisional game that puts them firmly at the top for the playoffs in the NFC. A big confidence game against a good Commanders team, that should propel them through their second half of the Season.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - A modest game for Smitty, but he came up big on his four catches moving the chains in some big check downs early. It was another big Saquon day, and when that happens, why stop him form feasting. Smitty will be a prime target going forward.
Brian Robinson jr. (Commanders) - A great game from Robinson and one that he was able to find the endzone in. 6 carries for 69 yards, it was a good day on the ground for Robinson. He was able to keep the Commanders in it close early by them relying on his legs, especially in the red zone. Expect Robinson to continue to be the feature back now that he's fully healthy.
Player of the week:
Jerry Jeudy (Browns) - 6 catches for 142 yards! That's right, Jeudy was the man for the Browns even in a tough loss. With Winston at the helm, it is definitely a pass happy offense now and with Cooper traded to the Bills, Jeudy is the main man. What a performance and one that had to be highlighted for this prolific route runner.
That does it for this week's recap. Check back Thursday for the week 12 outlook. Roll Tide!
