Bama in the NFL: Week 12 Recap
Week 12 has come and gone. We now know the pretenders and the contenders around the league. There were a lot of great performances by former Bama players, so let's breakdown their games.
Chiefs - 30 vs. Panthers - 27:
Bryce Young (Panthers) - What a performance by Young! One of his best games to date as a starter, and one in which he almost (maybe even should've) walked away with a win against Pattrick Mahomes. Now one of only three quarterbacks to put up more than 20 on the Chiefs this season. Young seems to have played himself back into the franchise qb realm for the Panthers, giving himself, and the organization confidence moving forward. Hell of job by Young!
Steelers - 19 vs. Browns - 24:
Najee Harris (Steelers) - A very tough night for the Steelers offense. Najee saw 16 carries gaining 41 yards in the process. It was a less than stellar night for him on the ground and credit must go to this Browns defensive front because they played lights out. They barley let up anything on the ground besides a few designed runs for Fields. In a close snow game you would think it would be the Najee show, but playing from behind and taking a ton of sacks, it was hard to overcome. Better days ahead for sure.
Jerry Jeudy (Browns) - Catching all 6 of his target for 85 yards it was a pretty good game for Jeudy. Winston was airing the ball out quite a bit, before the snow became too heavy. Jeudy is gaining momentum under Winston's lead, and it does not seem to be slowing down. Good outing for Jeudy.
Titans - 32 vs. Texans - 27:
Calvin Ridley (Titans) - 5 catches for 93 yards, it was a great game for Ridley. Levis was playing well with consistency in his passes. If this continues and they can build on his progress as a passer, Ridley will be a huge benefactor. A great start to that in this game and not a lot of people gave them much room to win this matchup. Good performance from Ridley.
Will Anderson jr. (Texans) - A tough loss for the Texans, but he bright side is that Anderson jr. is back and playing great. A two sack game for him in this matchup, he came up big on big downs. This is what to expect anytime he's on the field and it's a sight to watch. Great to see him back out on the field and balling.
Player of the week: Josh Jacobs
Josh Jacobs (Packers) - Coming up huge for the Pack in this rivalry game, Jacobs absolutely had himself a day. toting the rock 26 times for 106 yards and three touchdowns! yes three rushing touchdowns. If you can run the ball well in this league, it's probably due to an elite back and Jacobs is firmly an elite back. Have yourself a day sir! The NFC north race is heating up and Jacobs has something to say.
That does it for this week's recap. Check back Thursday for the week 13 outlook! Roll Tide!
