Bama in the NFL: Week Eight Recap
Week eight has come and gone and we seemingly have our emerging playoff teams/contenders. These next eight weeks will decide the fate of teams going forward. The back half of the season is now here. Let's see how Bama did in the NFL this week.
Cardinals - 28 vs. Dolphins - 27:
Tua Tagovailoa (Dolphins) - A decent return to play for Tagovailoa as he tossed for 234 yards a single touchdown, and no turnovers. A disappointing loss indeed, but the Dolphins offense is finally back on track with him back under center. Things will continue to get better from here.
Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins) - Catching four of six balls for 45 yards, a modest line for Waddle. Good production from the qb position helps tremendously as he now has someone that can get the ball out down field. Waddle should continue to catch balls as long as Tagovailoa continues to play.
Ravens - 24 vs. Browns - 29:
Derrick Henry (Ravens) - Playing in a close game for four quarters meant Lamar would be throwing more. This gave Henry his fewest carries in a game so far, but he still delivered. Going for 73 yards off 11 carries and a touchdown, it was a good showing for Henry even with the lighter work load. One of the most efficient backs right now and he should continue to ball.
Jerry Jeudy (Browns) - Jameis Winston has brought new life to this offensive attack down field for the BRowns. With a quarterback who is able and willing to sling the rock, and no more Amari Cooper, Jeudy is the main receiver in this offense now. He had a great day himself catching five balls for 79 yards, his best line of the season so far. Expect good production to continue from Jeudy as Winston is at the helm the rest of the year.
Eagles - 37 vs. Bengals - 17:
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - A big win for the Eagles headed by a stud performance from Hurts. Cashing in three rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown, Hurts reaffirmed his place as a quality qb. No turnovers from Hurts helped tremendously and it looks like he has gotten them out of his system. He also only missed four of his 20 pass attempts. The Eagles look to be humming as a team and are hitting their stride at the right time.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - Six catches for 85 yards and a touchdown, a great day for Smitty. The offense was on fire and Smith helped with that. He made big plays and great catches, as usual. With this offense finally clicking on all cylinders, expect the production from Smitty and Hurts to continue.
Player of the week: Josh Jacobs
Josh Jacobs (Packers) - A hard fought team win for the Pack, but one that came on the back of a massive performance from Jacobs. 25 touches for 127 and two touchdowns. A great outing form Jacobs and his best of the year. The packers should continue to lean on Jacobs going forward. A great day from Jacobs, had to be mentioned.
That does it for week eight! Check back Thursday for the week nine outlook. Roll Tide!
