Football is back!! Week one of the NFL football season is now complete and it was a wild slate. Nothing too unexpected happened, besides the Patriots beating the Bengals. Let's go through and review the best games from Bama Football alumni.

Packers vs. Eagles:

Josh Jacobs is averaging a nice 5.3 per carry off of 16 for a total of 84 yards. He was also active in their pass game catching 2 balls for 20 yards total. A modest night for Josh but he is everything they signed him this offseason to be.

DeVonta Smith - A big role played for Smitty in this game catching 7 of 8 balls for 84 yards, averaging 12 yards a catch. He came up clutch on second and long and third and long multiple times being that chain mover for them. Against a good Packers secondary and lining up alongside AJ Brown, he produced a good night.

Jalen Hurts - A rough start to the game for Jalen as the Eagles started with a fumble due to a bad snap to Jalen. No excuses here, except that it is week one and there are still going to be kinks to work out in the trenches. Going 20-34 for 278 with 2 TDs and 2 picks. A decent night for Jalen but not what you want to see every week from a possible MVP candidate. They came away with a win so off to a good start for the Eagles.

Dolphins vs. Jaguars:

Tua Tagovailoa - How about that comeback put together by Tua?! What a second-half turnaround for the Dolphins putting up 20 unanswered points in the second half. Tua went 23-37 for 338 and 1 TD. A great line and day for Tua, relying on Tyreek and Waddle to push the rock down the field. A clean game from Tua as well and a great start to his season.

Jaylen Waddle - Catching all five targets for 109 yards, giving the Dolphins a much-needed option when Tyreek is not open. A great showing from Waddle, expect more games like this from him and Tua going forward.

Lions vs. Rams:

Jahmyr Gibbs - a good day for the Lions getting a big home win to start the season right on the back of Gibbs, who boasted 11 carries for 40 yards and 1 TD. As a good receiving back he also had a big role in their passing game catching 4 passes for 34 yards. Expect more games like this from Gibbs and even better games too.

Jameson Williams - Jamo is back!! What a breakout game for him as he is now coming to form as the deep threat that the Lions drafted him to be. Catching 5 of 9 for 121 and 1 TD, he was one of Goff's favorite targets and will continue to be as the season progresses. Look for Jamo to be on highlight reels every Sunday.

Commanders vs. Buccaneers:

Brian Robinson Jr. - The only relevant player in this game here, he took on the role of lead back Sunday against the Bucs. Expect more games like this from B-Rob as he had 12 carries for 40 yards and 1 TD. Active in the passing game too being the best receiving back in the league, catching 3 balls for 49 yards. He will continue to be the main back in this offense led by Jayden Daniels, and at this point does not look like he will give up many snaps to his backup. Expect this production to continue.

Those are the biggest players from this weekend. Expect these players to continue to be highlight generators every week depending on the matchups. But don't be surprised if a lot of these guys become matchup proof either. Check back Thursday for the week two outlook and who to watch this upcoming weekend. Football is back! Roll Tide!
