Bear Bryant’s Great-Grandson Commits to Play for Nick Saban at Alabama
The legacy of former Alabama head coach Paul 'Bear' Bryant will grow a little larger in Tuscaloosa as great-grandson Paul Tyson decided Thursday to play college football for the Crimson Tide.
The four-star quarterback out of Hewitt-Trussville made his commitment via Twitter and referenced his great-grandfather's similar decision 60 years ago.
"It came down to Coach Key, Coach Enos, and Coach Saban asking me to commit now, Tyson wrote on Twitter. "I felt the same calling my Great Grandfather had when he was asked to come home."
Tyson will be a part of 2019 class, which now has six total commitments. Alabama also picked up a four-star defensive end out of Georgia earlier in the day.
