The Regions Tradition Golf Tournament will be delayed till the fall amid COVID-19 Coronavirus concerns. Originally scheduled for May 6-10 the Birmingham tournament will look for a date later in the season to play its event. The Regions Tradition Golf Tournament has been a part of the PGA Champions Tour since 1989.

In 2011 Alabama became the home of the Regions Tradition Golf Tournament, one of the five major events on the PGA Champions Tour. However it is the only major event where the champion does not receive an exemption into a PGA Tour or European Tour event. The event has been played at Greystone Golf and Country Club since 2016.

The Regions Tradition Golf Tournament also features a bevy of southern sports celebrities. Nick Saban usually partakes in the event as well as Gus Malzahn the head coach of the Auburn Tigers. It is usually a good opportunity for those seeking autographs from SEC coaches to procure them.

With the change in schedule due to the COVID-19 coronavirus it is unclear whether the SEC coaches scheduled to appear will be able to participate in the event.

American Steve Stricker is the defending champion. When a new date for the event is announced Tide 100.9 will announce it.
