The Birmingham Squadron is ringing in the new year in a special way - celebrating a beloved former Alabama men's basketball player, John Petty.

During the entire month of January, the Squadron is selling the "Petty Pair," a package that includes two tickets and a chance at winning a signed Petty jersey, for $23. For tickets, call (205) 719-0850.

The former UA guard signed to the local G-League team this past fall, after failing to be drafted in the 2021 NBA Draft. While playing in Birmingham, Petty averages 7.8 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 2.7 APG.

Petty became a reliable asset to this program early on, playing in every game in the first two years of his career. His dual-threat abilities on both ends of the court made him a force to be reckoned with, and his incredible depth behind the arc cemented his legacy in Crimson Tide history.

He aided the Tide to two March Madness tournaments (2018, 2021) and one SEC title (2021).

During his tenure with the Tide, Petty set multiple records for the organization, including: most made and attempted three pointers, became the 16th highest scorer and played the eighth most games, both in UA history.
