Bryce Young Says Young Receivers Are 'Growing and Getting Better'

The Alabama Crimson Tide enter the 2022 season with several question marks. Replacing the production of departing receivers Jameson Williams, John Metchie III and Slade Bolden stands as probably the Tide's biggest question on the offensive side of the football.

The Tide brought in five wide receivers in the 2022 class, Aaron Anderson, Kendrick Law, Shazz Preston, Kobe Prentice and Isaiah Bond as head coach Nick Saban is constantly looking for college football's next big weapon.

Anderson and Law are already on campus as early enrollees and making an impression on Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Bryce Young.

"I have seen the young guys who have come in, they’ve all been really hungry. That’s something we really appreciate here, is guys who come in ready to work, wanting to take every rep, wanting to get coached," said Young. "Being able to receive coaching. It’s a complicated offense at first when you’ve just came from high school. There’s going to be adjustments. There’s going to be guys running the wrong route or making a poor read on a route, whatever it may be. But what I love about this young group is, everything they do, they do full speed."

Anderson was considered the No. 1 recruit and Law the No. 8 recruit in the state of Louisiana. Both athletes have already been lauded for their speed, something that Williams utilized against defenses in 2021.

"When they mess up, there’s no finger pointing, there’s no blaming. They come back and they want to get coached. It’s great for me and for everyone on offense to see a mistake made from a young receiver on the first or second day of practice and see it get corrected the next practice. I think they’re all trending in the right direction. I think they’re all growing and getting better and really, I think it’s their mindset that has been pushing them. Really, I’m super excited for all the potential they have," said Young.

The young class of 2022 has lots of promise but has high competition from sophomores JoJo Earle, Christian Leary, Ja'Corey Brooks and others for targets and opportunities in 2022.

Alabama's Second Spring Scrimmage 2022

The Alabama Crimson Tide was back in action on Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium for its second scrimmage of the spring season. Alabama will return to Bryant-Denny for the spring finale on Saturday, April 16.

Alabama's Tenth Spring Practice 2022

The Crimson Tide was in the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility for the 10th practice of the spring session. Alabama is preparing for the second scrimmage of the session on Saturday as each player is looking to prove himself.

The Alabama Crimson Tide hosted a special visitor at Monday's spring practice. The Tide was back in action after a scrimmage on Saturday trying to clean up the mistakes and continue to grow.
