Second-Year Alabama Wide Receiver No Longer With Program
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed on Wednesday that redshirt-freshman wide receiver Aeryn "Bubba" Hampton is no longer with the Alabama football program.

"Bubba has not been with us for quite a while," DeBoer said during Wednesday's SEC coaches call. "Going to early fall camp."
Aeryn "Bubba" Hampton was a four-star wide receiver commit for the Crimson Tide in the 2024 recruiting class, choosing Alabama over the Texas Longhorns.
He was ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 16 athlete in the class, playing both wide receiver and cornerback in high school. He was ranked as the No. 53 overall player in Texas for the 2024 recruiting cycle as a four-star prospect.
Hampton played his high school football for Dangerfield High School in Dangerfield, Texas, and originally committed to play for former Alabama head coach Nick Saban. he signed with the Crimson Tide during the early signing period in December 2023, enrolling early at Alabama in January 2024, just 10 days after Alabama fell to Michigan in the Rose Bowl in the College Football Playoffs.
In 2022, he was named the Texas District 11-3A D-II Co-MVP during his junior season. He also ran track in high school, posting a 100-meter time of 11.54 in April 2023.
Hampton appeared in three games for the Crimson Tide in 2024, catching one pass for six yards in Alabama's 52-7 victory over the Mercer Bears in November.
