Quarterback competitions are nothing new to college football. The most important position in the sport generates the most attention every season, and it can occasionally create controversy.

Most of the time the debates take place on message boards and at sports bars, but sometimes you see it manifest itself within a locker room. A heated battle can cause players to take sides and if that isn't managed, it can create rifts on the team.

This year's competition at Alabama between Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa has polarized many fans who argue experience over upside. Martin Houston, who has been in that same Crimson Tide locker room and taken part in position battles, discussed this topic during his show earlier in the week. Houston gives his thoughts on why it could create some contention amongst certain players and whether he believes it actually will.
