The Alabama Crimson Tide picks up a win on the in-state recruiting trail after flipping 3-star wide receiver Cedrick Simmons from the Auburn Tigers, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 and Rivals.

Simmons, a Selma, Alabama, native, had been committed to Auburn since June 23. He's ranked as the No. 694 overall, No. 81 wide receiver, and the No. 25 player in the state of Alabama, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. Simmons took three official visits this spring and summer, visiting Purdue on May 29, Alabama on June 12, and Auburn on June 19.

 

As a junior in 2025, Simmons caught 106 passes, leading the state of Alabama in receiving yards with 2,192 and snagging 20 touchdowns. He also added 6 carries for 96 yards, and even had a 7-yard passing touchdown. As a sophomore in 2024, Simmons played in seven games, catching 44 passes for 944 yards and 6 touchdowns.

 

Alabama now has the No. 32 overall recruiting class and the No. 13 class in the SEC, according to Rivals' rankings, with 14 total high school commits:
