College Gameday Heading to Baton Rouge
The Alabama Crimson Tide is on a bye week on November 2 but will return to the gridiron for a do-or-die game with the LSU Tigers on November 9.
Alabama is the No. 14 team in the country according to the AP Poll, and LSU is the No. 16 team in the country according to the AP Poll. We'll know where each team sits in the College Football Playoff poll when the initial poll is released next Tuesday, November 5.
The Crimson Tide will travel to Baton Rouge, and they won't be the only ones. College Gameday announced on Saturday that the Gameday crew of Rece Davis, Des Howard, Nick Saban, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, and Pat McAfee will join Alabama in Baton Rouge.
It's the second time this season Alabama will get the Gameday spotlight, with the Crimson Tide hosting the College Football preview show in week five when Alabama defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 41-34.
Alabama has made 60 appearances on College Gameday since the show started, with the Crismon Tide having a 38-21 overall record when on College Gameday.
The Crimson Tide and the Tigers both have their backs against the wall, with the loser of the game likely out of the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff race.
Alabama and LSU will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC on November 9. The broadcast crew is not yet confirmed but is expected to be headlined by Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit for play-by-play, and color commentary.
Nick Saban will be forced to choose between the two teams he was most successful coaching. He won one national championship at LSU in 2003 and six national championships at Alabama in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2020.
