Mobile, Ala - The beginning stages of the NFL draft kicked off earlier this week in Mobile, Ala., where the best collegiate seniors in the nation go and showcase their talents to NFL scouts for one week down in The Port City.

Jalen Milroe, an Alabama Crimson Tide representative and one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2025 NFL draft, has had an up-and-down start to the week.

Milroe has displayed his fair share of struggles the past two days down in Mobile, struggling to find a rhythm throwing to the short and intermediate part of the field and with his mechanics.

However, Milroe has also demonstrated why he could be a top NFL draft selection, showcasing his arm talent and beautiful deep ball, which became commonplace in Tuscaloosa the past two seasons.

Per C. Isaiah Smalls of the Miami Herald, Milroe has had conversations with the Miami Dolphins regarding their backup quarterback position.

Smalls stated that the discussion with the Dolphins brass "went well."

In recent years, the Dolphins have had a revolving door with their backup quarterbacks, cycling through Tyler Huntley, Skylar Thompson, and Teddy Bridgewater. Combined with Tagovailoa's injury issues, a steady hand at backup could be a target for Miami later in the NFL draft.

When healthy, Tagovailoa has been a strong starting quarterback in the NFL. This season, he passed for 2,867 yards and 19 touchdowns in just 11 games for Miami. In the lone season he played all 17 games, He passed for 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Milroe saw mixed results during his time as Alabama's starting quarterback, finishing in sixth place in the Heisman Trophy race in 2023 with 2,834 passing yards and 23 passing touchdowns. Milroe also ran for 531 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023. After a strong start to the 2024 season, with big victories over Georgia and Wisconsin, Milroe's pace slowed for the rest of the season with 2,844 passing yards and 16 passing touchdowns. However, his ability in the run game exploded, with 726 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns.
