The Alabama Crimson Tide emerged from Columbia, South Carolina, victorious despite a tough environment, with most considering their Week 9 matchup a trap game.

The 29-22 victory improved their record to 7-1 on the season and 5-0 in Southeastern Conference play. Although the win against the Gamecocks wasn't Alabama's most glamorous win this season, it was enough to maintain their No. 4 ranking in the AP Top 25 Poll.

Through nine weeks of college football, Alabama has consistently held a rank in the AP Poll, secured four consecutive wins over ranked teams, and triumphed in hostile environments such as Georgia, Missouri, and South Carolina.

These accomplishments have strengthened their resume for a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff.

The Crimson Tide will have a bye week during Week 10, but will return to action in Week 11 against the LSU Tigers. Before their Week 11 matchup, the College Football Committee will release its first rankings on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Subsequent weekly rankings will be announced on Tuesdays until the final rankings are revealed on Selection Day, Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025

The remainder of Alabama's schedule includes LSU, Oklahoma, Eastern Illinois, and Auburn. If the Crimson Tide can conclude their season with only their Week 1 loss against Florida State, they will have a strong chance of earning a high seed for the playoffs.
