Crimson Tide Land Three-Star Georgia Native
Kalen DeBoer stays hot on the recruiting trail, landing a commitment from three-star LB Luke Metz. Metz is the sixth 2025 recruit to commit to Alabama this month.
Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack was Metz's primary recruiter.
Metz also plays baseball and runs track.
Despite being only a three-star, Metz has an offer list filled with elite programs such as Michigan, LSU, and Oklahoma.
"Instinctive off-ball linebacker prospect that can sift through traffic and make stops in the hole. Spent junior season working inside and outside of the box while also getting some looks as an edge rusher." Wrote 247Sports Andrew Ivins about Metz, "Plays with consistent energy, [...] Athletic enough to get the job done in space and handle drop coverage responsibilities. Tends to strike ball carriers and uses impressive grip strength to get them on the ground. [...] Should be viewed as a high-floor, second-level defender with three-down capabilities based on the game tape. Likely to add plenty of value on special teams at the school of his choice."
An All-Region and All-County selection for Mill Creek High School in 2023, Metz recorded 51 tackles, five sacks, and an interception during his junior campaign. Metz also took snaps at tight end, haug in four catches for 41 yards.
Metz joins a growing 2025 class for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama that includes Darrell Johnson, Derick Smith, Anthony "Turbo" Rogers, and Zymear Smith, amongst others.
