Dallas Turner Commits to Crimson Tide

Alabama is on a roll, securing its 10th commitment of the 2021 cycle in Dallas Turner. Turner, a four-star out of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, FL is ranked the second overall weak-side defensive end in the nation and the 10th overall recruit in the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Turner chose the Crimson Tide over Georgia, Florida, Michigan and Oklahoma. Pete Golding and Charles Huff were Turner's primary recruiter bringing the pair's tally up to four commitments in the 2021 cycle.

The 6-foot-4, 235 pound defensive end recorded 75 tackles and 15 sacks in his junior year, earning the South Florida Sun Sentinel's Broward County Class 5A-1A Defensive Player of the Year.

The Crimson Tide offered him a scholarship in December of 2019 and was able to visit Tuscaloosa in February for Junior Day prior to the pandemic. It was his final college visit he was able to partake in before the NCAA mandated an in-person dead period.

Turner and Ian Jackson are the two edge players in the current class. Turner is compared to former Clemson and current Miami Dolphins defensive end Shaq Lawson by 247Sports.

He talked about the Crimson Tide to 247Sports prior to making his choice today, "They are in it because at Alabama, you can reach your full potential and be the best version of yourself. That has always been a goal for me and I try to live to be the best version of myself, everyday. I want to be as great as I can be."
