Alabama is wrapping up Spring practice number two, and a portion of this one was available to the media. Some notable things from Alabama's second day on the practice field:

The energy was high, especially with the defensive backs. It was the first look we had at some of the transfers and freshmen at practice for Alabama. Domani Jackson, Jaylen Mbakwe, Zavier Mincey, Red Morgan, and Malachi Moroe all looked good in the limited time and drills that we saw. Keon Sabb was also working. Notably, defensive coordinator Kane Wommack was working with them on several drills.

Alabama defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry was present after not testing at the NFL Combine. He spent time watching the defensive back drills and talking with former Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton Dix.

Speaking of alums, former Alabama linebacker Jamey Mosley was working with defensive line coach Freddie Roach with the defensive line. Notably, second-year edge rusher Keon Keeley was working with the defensive line. He fits in perfectly with the 'Bandit' role that Wommack's defense tends to run a lot of. While at South Alabama, Wommack had the 'Bandit' be an every-down edge rusher. Keeley's size would be ideal for that position.

The edge rushers/outside linebackers were led by Quandarrius Robinson and Keanu Koht. Going back to high energy, Charles Robinson brought a lot of energy to that small group of players.

In the running back rotation, albeit we were far away from them, Justice Haynes looks to have toned up and is running much smoother, as well as ditching the elbow brace he wore to end last season. In every drill I saw, Haynes was the first running back, Jam Miller was second, and Richard Young was third.

Quarterbacks were warming up their arms, but Milroe does appear to have changed his throwing motion, slightly. We should get a better look at his throwing throughout the spring as practice footage and more media open practices become available. The depth chart was: Milroe, Simpson, Lonergan, Carruth, and Mack.

Circling back to the defensive backs, Red Morgan was working with the 'ones' during a couple of drills. They're drills, yes, and it's only day two of Spring ball, but to be working with that group early on is special for a freshman. Behind Morgan reportedly was DeVonta Smith and Tony Mitchell, although according to Charlie Potter of On3, he had a hamstring support strip.

Alabama will make select defensive players and defensive coordinator Kane Wommack available to the media following the end of practice. Tide 100.9 will have coverage of the press conference and any interviews. Follow @FultonW_ and @RyanCFowler on Twitter/X for updates on Alabama Football.
