As many expected Alabama has picked up a commitment soon after the start of camp, landing a pledge from three-star defensive tackle Johnny Dwight from Wilcox High School in Rochelle, Georgia. He becomes the 9th commitment to the Crimson Tide for the 2014 signing class.

Dwight fits the Alabama mold for defensive lineman, currently standing 6-foot-3 and 295lbs and chose the Tide over offers from other Southeastern Conference power Louisiana State University and North Carolina of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Although considered a three-star prospect by the major recruiting websites, he has been a fast-rising prospects, impressing coaches while camping at Alabama.

He is Alabama’s second defensive line commitment in 10 days joining the 6’2, 330lbs O.J. Smith announcement on May 24th.
