According to Jeff Goodman of the Field of 68, Alabama freshman forward Derrion Reid is expected to play when Alabama takes on Auburn this afternoon.

Reid has not played since February 1 and has missed seven games this season for Alabama while dealing with a lower-body injury.

Reid, a former five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American is a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward from Grovetown, Georgia. He averages 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game for Alabama this season. His top performance came in Alabama's rivalry game against Creighton, putting up 12 points in 21 minutes against the Bluejays.

On Friday, Oats provided an update on Reid's status ahead of the big-time matchup in Comelan Coliseum, "Looks a lot better than he has the last month or so," Oats said on Friday.

Oats also mentioned Reid has been able to participate in live action during practice, which is a new development in his recovery process from his injury.

Reid was held scoreless in Alabama's February 1 victory over Georgia, with his last double-digit scoring performance coming on January 11 against Texas A&M, where he scored 11 points in 15 minutes.
