Crimson Tide Among Top Seven for Top-35 Prospect in 2027 Class
Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide continue their momentum in the 2027 recruiting class, landing on yet another blue-chip prospect’s list of top schools. On Thursday, a four-star shooting guard placed Alabama in his top seven.

According to Rivals’ Joe Tipton, Devin Cleveland, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, listed Alabama in his top seven schools. The Tide are joined by Missouri, Arkansas, Syracuse, Marquette, Michigan, and TCU on Cleveland’s list.
Cleveland is a highly touted prospect in the 2027 class, with Rivals Industry rankings listing him as the No. 6 shooting guard and the No. 32 overall prospect in the 2027 class. The Chicago native is entering his senior year at La Lumiere School in Indiana, which has produced NBA players like Jaren Jackson Jr., Jaden Ivey, and Jordan Poole.
As of Thursday, the four-star shooting guard has taken four total visits: twice to Missouri (May 16 and July 16), once to Michigan (March 8), and once to Marquette (last June). Cleveland currently has only one visit scheduled, a return to Missouri for his first official visit on October 3, according to Rivals.
Nate Oats and his staff offered the talented guard on May 20, according to Cleveland’s X account. In just over three months, the Tide have built a strong connection with Cleveland, leading to Alabama being included in his top seven. The top-35 overall prospect in the 2027 class hasn’t scheduled a visit to the Capstone yet, but it wouldn’t be surprising if one is already being arranged behind the scenes.
Cleveland would be a major addition to the Crimson Tide’s 2027 class, which currently doesn’t have a commitment but is gaining significant traction with top prospects. Five-star small forward Malachi Jordan placed the Tide in his top eight schools. Four-star shooting guard RJ Moore announced earlier this week that he will visit Tuscaloosa on September 25, and four-star guard Chase Lumpkin revealed back in June that he will also visit the Capstone in September, according to Tipton.
