ESPN’s Chris Low Predicts Backup Quarterback at Alabama
Later Friday afternoon, Low appeared on Tide 100.9's "The Game" hosted by Ryan Fowler to give more insight on the announcement.
"Jalen Milroe wins the quarterback job here in Tuscaloosa," said Fowler. "Tell us what you know."
Low was confident: "The first thing I would say is he's gonna be the starter tomorrow...and past that he's gotta play well."
"Anyone who's been around that program and around Nick Saban knows that you don't win any job for life," said Low, "especially not a quarterback job."
Fowler asked Low if he expected multiple quarterbacks to play against Middle Tennessee tomorrow.
"I think it just probably depends on how the game goes," said Low. He explained that Saban is likely not planning for a two-quarterback system
.
But..."If they need to play somebody else they will," said Low. "If the game gets out of hand and they want to put someone else in...they will."
"I would say probably right now the second guy, if something was to happen to Jalen....is probably Tyler Buchner."
Low emphasized that he wasn't speaking for Saban with that prediction. "But [Buchner] would probably be who they go with second."
