Every Alabama Player Picked in the 2022 USFL Draft

The United States Football League (USFL) is an eight-team league where every team plays a 10-game schedule in hopes of qualifying for the four-team semifinal and winning a championship.

The league's draft pool consists of around 500 players who were either not drafted by the NFL or didn't have long careers in the NFL, as well as players who were part of smaller football leagues like the XFL. Every player in the pool had to sign a contract prior to the draft in order to be eligible to play in the league, though only 280 players will actually be drafted.

Here's a list of every Alabama football player who waspicked in the USFL Draft:

Mekhi Brown, Tampa Bay Bandits

Brown was drafted as the seventh pick in the second round by the Tampa Bay Bandits and is the first Crimson Tide player to be drafted in the USFL Draft. The defensive end was at Alabama from 2015-17, where he is infamously remembered for punching a Georgia player in the 2018 CFP championship game, subsequently getting yelled at by head coach Nick Saban and getting into a skirmish on the sidelines. He transferred to Tennessee State after the season and played for the Tigers for two seasons.

Bradley Sylve, Philadelphia Stars

Sylve was drafted as the seventh pick in the eleventh round by the Philadelphia Stars. The cornerback was with the Crimson Tide from 2011-15, winning two national championships with the team. Though he went undrafted in the NFL, he spent time with both the Buffalo Bills and the New Orleans Saints but never saw any playing time with either team. He also played in the AAF and XFL, giving him experience in spring football leagues. He scored the first defensive touchdown in the history of the XFL.

One of the eight teams in the new USFL is the Birmingham Stallions, which is based out of Birmingham, Alabama, and coached by Skip Holtz.

Here's a list of every player who was picked by the Birmingham Stallions in the USFL Draft:

Round 1: Alex McGough, Florida International

McGough was the sixth overall pick in the draft and the first player picked by the Stallions. He played at FIU from 2014-17, becoming the school's all-time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns by passing for 9091 yards, 65 touchdowns and 37 interceptions, and was drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. As well as the Seahawks, he spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans but never had any playing time in an NFL game.

Round 2: Aaron Adeoye, Missouri State

Adeoye was the third pick in the second round for the Stallions. He began his college sports career playing college basketball and didn't make the switch over to college football until his fifth year of eligibility. The defensive end spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and Green Bay Packers, but only played in one NFL game where he recovered a fumble. He's also played in the (TSL) and the AAF.

The Birmingham Stallions will play in the inaugural game of the 2022 USFL season against the New Jersey Generals on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama. The entire USFL regular season will be held at Protevtice Stadium.
