LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Former Alabama assistant and current Arkansas State head coach Bryan Hodgson has been named the top target for the head coaching position at UNLV, per On3's Pete Nakos.

Hodgson is expected to sign a deal to become the 17th head coach of the Runnin' Rebels.

During his two season stint at Arkansas State, Hodgson tallied a 45-28 record while earning a share of the Sun Belt regular season title this season.

While in Tuscaloosa, Hodgson managed the 2022 recruiting class, which included NBA players Brandon Miller and Noah Clowney, plus five-star Jaden Bradley.

UNLV hasn't earned an NCAA tournament bid since the 2012-2013 campaign under Dave Rice when the Runnin' Rebels fell in the Round of 64 to No. 12 seed California.
