Xavier McKinney recorded an impressive performance in Green Bay’s 24-19 victory over the Rams, logging three tackles, two passes defensed, an interception, and a fumble recovery. Notably, McKinney is the fourth player since 1970 to record a takeaway in each of his team’s first five games of a season.

This marks McKinney’s second career Player of the Week Award and his first with the Packers, previously earning the honor in Week 9 of the 2021 season with the Giants. He is the first Green Bay defensive back to receive the award since Rasul Douglas in Week 12 of 2021.

McKinney, along with his former college teammate Pat Surtain II (AFC Defensive Player of the Week this week), become the third and fourth former University of Alabama defensive backs to win multiple Player of the Week Awards. They join Landon Collins (four-time winner) and Roman Harper (three-time winner).
