Former Alabama defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has been re-signed by the Detroit Lions.

"The #Lions are re-signing DL Isaiah Buggs to a two-year deal worth up to $6 million, per source," tweeted NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. 

The La., native spent two seasons at the Capstone. During his Tide tenure, he recorded 102 total tackles (44 solo, 58 assisted), 17.5 tackles for loss for 75 yards, 11 sacks for 53 yards, three passes defended, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

The former national champion was drafted No. 192 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent three seasons with the Steelers, then was released by the team on Jan. 8, 2022. The Las Vegas Raiders picked him up later in the month to be on the team's practice squad.

Buggs signed with the Lions on July, 22, 2022, and has been a big help to Detroit's defense.

He has recorded 73 total tackles (31 solo, 42 assisted), three passes defended, and a sack in his professional career thus far.

Last season, the Lions went 9-8 and finished No. 2 in the NFC North.
