Former Alabama Forward Undergoes Season-Ending Surgery
Brandon Miller, a superstar for the Alabama Crimson Tide during his one season in Tuscaloosa, was drafted No. 2 overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2023 NBA draft. Miller immediately became a star for the Hornets and is widely viewed as one of the two best players in Charlotte.

Miller has started all 27 games he has played in for the Hornets, but his sophomore season has unfortunately been cut short. The Charlotte Hornets announced on Thursday that Miller underwent surgery to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, ending his season.
The scapholunate ligament connects the inside of the hand to the wrist, and symptoms could include pain when bending the wrist backward and limited range of motion.
During his rookie season, Miller started 68 games and appeared in 74, shooting 44% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range. He averaged 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.6 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game.
During his sophomore campaign, Miller was in the midst of taking his game to another level. Playing 34.2 minutes per game, Miller shot 40.3% from the field and 35.5% from three-point range in his 27 games this season, averaging 21 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 1.1 steals in year number two.
Miller, a 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward, was the Hornets' second-leading scorer this season. LaMelo Ball, who has 29 points per game, is Charlotte's leader.
