Former Alabama Guard Justin Coleman Will Join Samford
Former Alabama point guard Justin Coleman will return to his hometown to continue his college career.
The Wenonah high school star announced on Twitter that he would join the Samford Bullodgs basketball program next fall.
Coleman played two season for the Crimson Tide before deciding to transfer in March. The 5-foot-10, 168-pound guard started seven games for Avery Johnson during his sophomore season and lead the team in assists per game (3.3) and free throw shooting (89%).
His best game of the year came against eventual one-seed Oregon at a neutral site matchup in Birmingham. Coleman caught fire, scoring a career-high 24 points in the near-upset.
Coleman will have to sit out one season per NCAA transfer rules.
